Description
As a Mortgage Servicing Rights Sales and Acquisitions Manager, you’ll be responsible for servicing loan transfers (sales and/or acquisitions) from various mortgage banking and servicing institutions. You’ll manage the daily operations of the mortgage servicing transfers and be responsible for each transaction’s compliance with federal, state and investor guidelines.
About the Role
- Manage pre- and post-transfer activities between the seller/purchaser, impacted business partners, document custodian and sub/primary servicer(s) to ensure adherence to transfer instructions, purchase/sale agreement and regulatory servicing requirements
- Update and maintain key transfer documents/tools including, but not limited to, servicing questionnaire, transfer instructions, transfer database and process documentation
- Monitor transfer tasks closely to ensure all timelines are met and update transfer database accordingly, including the delivery of goodbye and welcome letters for transferring MSRs
- Work with Cash and Investor Reporting teams to guarantee proper balancing and settlement of cash transactions related to servicing transfers
- Work with Capital Markets to inform individual deal needs and requirements from a servicing perspective, including impacted team leadership as necessary
- Work with IT partners to ensure internal servicing systems can accommodate any transferring loan activity prior to the transfer date (Rocket Account creation, document transfers, RMS availability, MSP requirements)
- Inform impacted internal business teams of transfer activity with enough time to properly plan for and accommodate transferring loan activity (payment forwarding or acceptance, client interactions, production work increases)
- Inform vendor partners of portfolio changes so they can be properly prepared to handle any volume increases or decreases to avoid any service disruption
- Participate in due diligence reviews of sellers/purchasers/servicers as necessary
- Track receipt of complete mortgage documents for sold or purchased loans
- Reconcile transferring loan population according to deal structure and requirements as loan attributes change through the planning and interim period
- Prepare and distribute executive summaries to internal partners on key attributes related to transfers of servicing
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners as transfer activities have a cross-team servicing impact and dependence
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years of mortgage servicing experience
- 3 years of experience in mortgage servicing rights transfers (sales and acquisitions)
- Knowledge of Black Knights’ Mortgage Servicing Platform (MSP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to comprehend terms of Purchase and Sales Agreements and Letters of Intent related to Servicing Transfers
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years of mortgage servicing experience
- 5 years of experience in mortgage servicing rights transfers (sales and acquisitions)
- Knowledge of mortgage servicing platforms beyond MSP
- Bachelor’s degree
