Position Summary

The Project Architect/Designer (job title is determined based on one having their licensure) oversees the design and construction of commercial, industrial, and residential building projects. This position works closely with other departments to understand the requirements of a project, including structural elements and the overall budget. This position requires strong technical skills, proficiency in the design development and production of construction drawings, detail-oriented work, and must self-manage tasks and deadlines for clients while working with the project manager to ensure large milestones are met.

Essential Functions

  • Work collaboratively with Development Team on multiple development projects, including ground-up and adaptive reuse residential, office, hospitality, retail, parking, and mixed-use buildings

  • Provide architecture and design review, guidance, and oversight to ensure each project supports stated goals and objectives

  • Create cohesive and comprehensive architectural solutions through graphical, written, and verbal means

  • Lead the generation of project presentations and documents with limited oversight from leadership

  • Comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents, data, and financial information into graphic narratives and presentations.

  • Anticipate project-specific requirements and respond with appropriate architectural solutions

  • Drafts workflow, process, and quality control metrics for completing complex projects on time, with consistently exceptional results

  • Facilitate project discourse, escalate critical decisions, and manage project-specific conflicts and concerns

  • Collaborate closely with other Bedrock teams, including Leasing, Marketing, and Property Management

  • Present project updates and communicate project vision to other Bedrock teams, key stakeholders, and Bedrock leadership

  • Provide guidance and oversight to Architecture Associate and Architecture and Design Intern team members

  • Track architecture and design trends and disseminate information to teams and apply to projects as appropriate

  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent education, training, and experience

  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong writing, presentation, and general communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of architectural design, experience with project management

  • Understand and lead all phases of the architecture design process with great design, graphics, text, research, drawing, and rendering skills

  • Architectural licensure is encouraged but not required

  • Software Skills should include advanced level (able to teach others) in:

  • 3D modeling

  • Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD

  • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Project management tools, such as Trello and Bluebeam

Position Qualifications

  • Able to problem-solve at an advanced level

  • Able to perform tasks by interpreting and analyzing established procedures

  • Strong writing, presentation, and general communication skills
